Mentorship
Program – provides advice and guidance from a positive role model and promotes
youth and human development. Additionally, the program provides
education and training for youth and young adults in preparation
for manhood, womanhood and community investment. IOY’s mentorship
program is a semester, ending with a ceremony held at the end
of each semester. The programs run five cycles per year, developing
youth and supportive parents. The outreach of this program will
extend beyond the training of the program, with speaking engagements
to schools, churches and other community organizations.
Personal
Development Sessions – to address cultural awareness, family stability, domestic violence
drug and alcohol awareness, economic awareness, conflict reconciliation,
spiritual, physical, and intellectual awareness, aesthetic art,
and entrepreneurship.
Community
Service – to
provide opportunities for youth to carry out their court ordered
sanctions.
Service
Learning/Volunteer Public Service – links academic work with practical experience by helping
students develop a balanced approach to their own education.
